Marvell Montage: Stories of Recharging and Finding Meaning

Doing your best work requires a little balance. Every quarter at Marvell, employees around the globe have the opportunity to partake in a Recharge Weekend, two extra paid days off, to relax how they see fit. While enjoying their time off, many employees found a deeper connection to their meaningful work at Marvell.
For Senior Staff Test Engineer Yaswanth Chalamalasetti, the benefit provided an opportunity to connect with nature, with the waterfall serving as a metaphor for his work on the test floor.
“Got a break from testing chips thanks to Marvell's amazing Recharge Weekend benefit, but I was still ‘testing the waters’ by hiking to beautiful Tumpak Sewu,” says Chalamalasetti. “The name means ‘a thousand waterfalls,’ and it's a great reminder that success (and a good bin—aka a working chip shipped to a customer) comes from a thousand small steps rather than one giant leap. And just like the water flowing here, ideas never stop, and neither does Marvell.”

Engineered to Collaborate: Robot Racing as a Microcosm of Marvell

“You have exactly one hour. Good luck! Go!!” the announcer shouted into the microphone. At the Marvell headquarters in Santa Clara, California, the cafeteria was transformed into an engineering workshop. Every table was filled with a box of mechanical parts containing everything needed to build a robot fit for a race around campus.
Around 170 Marvell employees teamed up in groups of eight to ten to bring their visions to life. The Robot Racing event, a Marvell tradition, sparks creativity and teamwork among colleagues, embodying what Marvell is all about.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to get together, use our brains outside of regular meetings, have a team building event, laugh together and have fun,” said Principal Engineer Anis Weldon. “And if we win? That’s good! And even if we lose, that’s okay. We get the experience.”

To celebrate Women’s History Month this March, the Global Semiconductor Alliance’s Women’s Leadership Initiative (GSA WLI) is recognizing three inspiring Marvell women, sharing their stories, leadership journeys, and their contributions to the technology industry.
All three women are Chapter Leads for the Women@Marvell Inclusion Network, where they make an impact through networking and mentorship opportunities.

Beyond the Specs: Finding Your Career Path

A new year brings time to reflect and plan what you are going to do differently. One of the key areas of reflection, for me, is about my career goals and aspirations for the next year.
I’ve always been focused on planning my career and finding the right path for me. Growing up, I was playing different types of sports, singing, and dancing, all with one goal in mind: to figure out what I enjoyed most. I always had the mindset that I didn’t have to be an expert in everything, but I should give it all a try. I loved having different hobbies and skills and learning new things.

GSA WLI Recognizes Leading Professional Yasmin Adams

In celebration of Black History Month, the Global Semiconductor Alliance’s Women’s Leadership Initiative (GSA WLI) is highlighting the contributions of Black women in the semiconductor space. This month, Yasmin Adams, Principal Finance Professional at Marvell, has been recognized as a leading professional in the industry.
Yasmin has been involved in the semiconductor industry since the origin of her career. After graduating college, she joined Inphi while still a startup and was a member of the team that ultimately took the company to IPO, an experience she found very valuable. “Being surrounded by such driven people and having great mentors early on really shaped my career,” she recalls.
While completing her MBA, Yasmin worked full time while navigating a major acquisition and the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. She describes this period as a test of resilience, noting that her drive came from the understanding that “there were people before [her] who fought for their right to an education.”
