Samsung Launches New Galaxy Android Smartphone Leveraging Marvell's Industry-leading TD-SCDMA Solution

Marvell affirms its leadership in China's TD-SCDMA standard with the introduction of Samsung's new Galaxy i8250 powered by Marvell's PXA920H Single-Chip Solution

Santa Clara, California (June 25, 2012) – Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL) today announced Samsung has released its new Android-smartphone for China Mobile powered by Marvell’s PXA920H single-chip solution, an advanced, highly integrated 3G platform with TD-SCDMA and GSM/EDGE communication support designed for multimedia-centric handsets. Samsung’s new Galaxy i8250 smartphone represents an extension of Marvell’s continued strategic collaboration for the TD market; the latest device is designed to bring the connected lifestyle to China’s growing consumer base. Samsung’s latest Galaxy handset also features the Marvell® Avastar® 88W8787 wireless chipset, a high-performance 802.11n Wi-Fi + Bluetooth + FM radio combination, as well as Marvell’s RF838, a single-chip 2G/3G dual-mode TD-SCDMA radio frequency transceiver that enables the highest performance and thinnest form factor for consumers. The Galaxy i8250 is available now through China Mobile, the largest mobile carrier in the world with more than 650 million subscribers.

Samsung’s new Galaxy i8250, powered by Marvell’s PXA 920H (1 GHz), features a 4.0-inch WVGA screen and a 5 megapixel camera. The Galaxy i8250 is the latest mobile device to leverage Marvell’s PXA920 family of solutions, a leader in the TD-SCDMA market. Powering more than two dozen smartphones and tablets, the PXA920 family has enabled the mass market adoption of affordable, innovative mobile TD devices by millions of consumers throughout China.
