Alaska is a comprehensive family of physical layer transceivers supporting optical and copper media with advanced high-speed Ethernet connectivity products. At Interop, Marvell will be demonstrating, for the first time, its recently announced Alaska X 88X3240P quad-port Ethernet PHY, designed to bring the benefits of the IEEE 10GBASE-T standard to a host of equipment types, ranging from data center and enterprise switches to storage and server equipment. The 88X3240P is designed to deliver 10Gbps Ethernet connectivity over unshielded twisted-pair copper cabling adhering to structured wiring rules and distances in excess of 100 meters. With low power consumption and an ultra-small 23mm x 23mm package, the device is ideally suited for high-density applications such as top of rack switches.
Marvell continues to innovate infrastructure and data center solutions with its latest family of 28nm programmable network processors ranging from 100Gbps to 400Gbps packet processing performance. The Xelerated family includes the AX2140, AX3140, HX4130 and HX4136 devices – all wire-speed by design to maximize performance with minimal software development time and resources. The Xelerated family provides a highly advanced and highly integrated 700+ multi-core processor solution through its hyper-efficient and only deterministic, flexible packet processing architecture. Additionally, the Xelerated family delivers carrier-grade traffic management capabilities enabling converged wireless and wireline infrastructure solutions to be deployed with the greatest service density, fastest service velocity in the least number of disparate equipment to ultimately reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of the network. The roll-out of mobile and content store/delivery services that maximize user Quality of Experience (QoE) are expected to be easily achieved with the Xelerated solutions by enabling service-aware traffic forwarding and adaptive load balancing capabilities for next-generation software defined storage, networking, compute and mobility platforms while minimizing OPEX.
The Marvell ARMADA family is the sixth-generation, comprehensive product family of SMB, enterprise and carrier-class high-efficient multi-core ARM-based System-on-Chips (SoCs). The ARMADA 38x devices, the latest additions to the ARMADA family, are dual/single-core 1.6 GHz Cortex A9-based SoCs in 28nm process technology, which incorporate various I/O peripherals designed to enable seamless device integration at high performance in a small form factor and low power system design. The high CPU frequency allows implementation of variety of applications and services in power sensitive environments, aligning perfectly with IoT concept. ARMADA 38x devices support Reliability Availability and Serviceability (RAS) features and latest IO technologies, such DDR4, USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0 that are required by an Enterprise Class platform with a long life cycle.
