Marvell's Mobile LTE Solution to Power Lenovo's First TD-LTE Advanced Smartphone

Marvell's industry leading ARMADA Mobile quad-core PXA1088 LTE single-chip platform enables high performance, field-proven connectivity and cost effective solution for Lenovo's A788T mainstream 4G LTE smartphone

Santa Clara, California (February 18, 2014) – Marvell (Nasdaq: MRVL) a worldwide leader in integrated silicon solutions, today announced that its industry-leading ARMADA® Mobile LTE solution, a highly integrated quad-core application and communications System-on-Chip (SoC) platform, will power leading global electronics manufacturer, Lenovo’s first TD-LTE smartphone which is well positioned to support China Mobile’s plans to sell 100 million 4G LTE smart phones in 2014. The Android-based Lenovo A788T smartphone is priced around 1,000 RMB (approx U.S. $165) and is well positioned to drive the rapid adoption of 4G LTE. It will support three communication modes, Time Division Long-Term Evolution (TD-LTE), Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA), and Global Systems for Mobile (GSM).

With a quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 application processor, PXA1088LTE incorporates high performance graphics together with Marvell’s advanced Avastar® 88W8777 wireless connectivity, including WLAN + Bluetooth 4.0 + FM single-chip SoC, the L2000 GNSS Hybrid Location Processor, an integrated power management unit with audio codec IC, and 88RF858 high-performance multimode LTE transceiver.
